I was reading the comprehensive list of chili places thread and it got me thinking, I'm not a fan of Cincinnati style chili. It's just too runny IMO. Skyline seems to be the worst offender of what I had. Gold Star isn't much better. I hate how it slops everywhere and there's not much meat in there to begin with. I like the thick chili my mom makes at home much better.
Anyone else agree or am I alone?
On a side note I also like Gold Star better than Skyline.
I like their hot dogs and cheese better. Of course I don't get chili on them.

I'm sure there's plenty of people that are the same way - I know some people that aren't fans of Cincinnati chili. It's definitely a different taste, and it's either something you love or hate.

It's not a big difference, but Gold Start is also a little cheaper, so that's the main reason why.

Do a search for threads with "Cincinnati chili" as the subject and you'll hear me going on about my dislike for it.
Bombarding dishwater-marinated ground chuck with cheese and grated onions doesn't change that it tastes like dishwater-marinated ground chuck (sometimes with a hint of chocolate or cinnamon.) Texas style is the way to go!
It does feel like a lonely club to be in sometimes. So I should be more understanding when anybody says they're not a
schnecken fan or prefer UDF ice cream to Graeter's.

I can't get enough of the stuff. I've been to a lot of bad Skylines, but the best Skylines are far better than the best Goldstars. Clifton Skyline is a common favorite for good reason. I like all the indies, too. And hell if I wouldn't die for some Goldstar right now. I like it all. I want it NOW!!!
