Evandale area
Hello, considering a move to Ohio and was looking into the Evandale area in particular . Not familiar at all with the surroundings and was hoping some of you may be able to shed some light as far as quality of life , crime, recreation, surrounding areas, etc.
Thanks all .

Hopefully you are able to buy a house, because evandale, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't have any rental units, which kind of takes you back to the days when you had to own property in order to vote.

Evendale is a nice community. It's got a rec center, a new Walmart and is located near to major transportation and shopping areas. Sharon Woods is quite nearby, as is the Blue Ash Golf Course. Evendale has an older part, with ranch homes, and a newer part, built on the south side of Glendale-Millford road, on what used to be the Shappacher farm. To the best of my recall, the only noteworthy negative activities in that area recently include roaming coyotes (beware dogs!) and someone who complained that someone kept throwing sausages into her yard. I don't know that there's much of a community center per se, and sense that there may be a bedroom community feel to it (unless you have kids). It's bordered by Reading Road and Glendale-Milford and if you GoogleEarth the intersection, you'll see that those are major roads with a lot of light industry and mixed zoning.
Evendale is next to the seedier side of Sharonville, which is a fine working class community, but has a poorer economic constitution. I don't know that that matters, or is viewed as anything negative, however.
If you're interested in the Evendale area (do you work at GE perhaps?), you might also want to consider Blue Ash (larger, wide range of housing including some cool condos and townhouses) and Glendale and Wyoming, which are older communities with more of a community feel to them.
I grew up in Glendale, which is right across I-75, and know the region fairly well. Feel free to DM me if you have more specific questions or I can help further.

We lived in Sharonville (right next to Evendale) and loved it. I did not consider it to be "seedy". We could walk to the library and the rec. center/ pool. They have built a new elementary school. I would look at houses there too.
