Default Help!

hi!
I am 18 years old and am planning on attending cincinnati state in february.
I am not faimliar at all with any areas of cincinnati I just know that it does have somewhat of a bad reputation with crime and poverty.
I was looking for an apartment ( i am willing to commute 10-15 minutes at the most) and was wondering if tehre are any areas I would be able to feel extremely safe in but still be able to afford.
I was hoping there would be some apartments near UC so it would be mostly students. Does anyone have any ideas?
I just am extremely apprehensive about this since I live four hours away and it is hard for me to get down there and check things out for myself.

thank you!!

gaslight clifton, the area around ludlow avenue, is very nice, low crime and has a vibrant commerical strip. you can walk to cincinnati state, it is about a mile and then walk back, although it is uphill, or take a bus for one dollar

As a college student, I would imagine your budget to be tight. Maybe near fraternity row on UC. Though it may be noisy , if you befriend those guys and are ever in need of help, they would most likely would come through.

The Clifton gaslight area would be my pick. I lived there when I was younger. It's very convenient to bars, restaurants, a grocery store, UC, and has great bus service. I always felt safe there.
