It has become evident to me that I will have to find a home that has some means of parking off street. Will hang onto my current home though if I am able to find a second home that has off street parking.

Question. Parking pads. I've seen them in front of some houses in Pittsburgh and I wondered if they are at all used in the Cincinnati area and specifically NKY? I have not seen any in Covington though that does not mean they do not exist. Will local government allow a home owner to put in a parking pad in front of the house to park if room for a driveway does not exist?

I believe that front-yard parking is generally not allowed in the City of Cincinnati. As I understand it, this rule comes from students filling up front yards with cars in the area around the University. That said, I have seen parking pads in the hillier areas, like Columbia Tusculum. I have friends with a parking pad and then you walk down ten stairs to get to their house.

^^^Thanks. At least in the city it is easier to find a home with off street parking than in Covington or Newport. I am surprised at how few homes have driveways or a garage. Some places do have alley ways and you can at least park off that in your back yard. But they are few and far between.
