Liberty Township, diverse?
I have heard a lot of new homes are going up in Liberty Township and have looked at a few online that look pretty nice. How is it in terms of diversity? Would the commute to UC be lengthy? Thanks

I'm not too sure about diversity there... when I think of Liberty Township I think mostly pasty white. But I don't live there so I can't say.
I can tell you that you will regret a southbound commute during the morning rush hour. I drive northbound in the morning and the southbound side usually appears to be stop and go or at a crawl from north of 129.

Liberty Twp. like most of Butler County is increasingly diversifying. I'd guess that Liberty Twp. is about 90% white, with most of those being upper middle class people.
Without heavy traffic you should be able to get to UC in 30-45 minutes.

if you want a diverse place near UC look at gaslight clifton (the area around and north of ludlow avenue). A five minute drive, 15 minute walk or seven minute bus ride (UC students faculty and staff get to ride for free).
Remember, if you are commuting 90 minutes a day, you are spending nearly 20% of your free time driving. (18.75%)

I live in Liberty Township and agree with most of the comments. I would say it is mostly white here, but other races as well and we all get along just fine! (If you are neighborly, you will be treated neighborly.) I've lived here 20 years next month and the only crime we've ever had is our mailbox smashed once and a battery stolen out of our vehicle once. We're a hop off the expressway and I can be crossing the river in 30 minutes with no traffic.
Are you interested in renting or buying?

If you want diversity move to Northside, and it's a lot easier to get to UC from there.

northside is a really nice neighborhood and much more diverse than liberty township. you can easily take the bus to Uc or drive about seven minutes rather than nearly an hour. gas is expensive and your time is valuable.

Thanks for everyones comments. I drove around recently and it is a nice area. We are planning on buying. My husband wants to get about midway between the heart of Cincinnati and Dayton since he may be working in Dayton and has ill parents in Cincy. The daily commute to UC would be made by my college age kids.

Then Liberty Township or Monroe would be perfect for you!

your kids are looking at a 270 mile commute per week plus parking. AAA calculates operating a car at 52.2 cents per mile, so that would be $140 in transportation costs per week (assuming they carpool, if they drive separately the cost would double) and $150 a quarter in parking ($450 a year if no summer classes).
for that amount of money, you could easily get them a two bedroom apartment within walking distance of campus and they would thank you for having a much better college experience. Additionally, you wouldn't have to worry about them drinking and driving if they can walk home. (college student stereotype).
