I live in the harvard ave area and im here to tell you that the gangs in cleveland are the hardest gangs in all of ohio. Most of the gangs have ties to the birthplace of the gang...I've been chicago sevral times on buisness...The land is the REAL deal..

I think he made up everything he said in that post. According to his profile, he lives in the zip code 45052 which is 98% white, with a poverty rate of 6%, and an average home value twice the state average. Thats about as far from gangster as a place can be.

You have to blame the media and things like MTV for this. Everyone wants to be a gangster, from inner city kid in poverty to Malibu's finest. You have to wonder where the parents of these suburban "gang bangers" are at?
If my kid came in the house with his pants on his knees and emulating the "ganster" culture on TV, I would tan his hide. Period.
You can just see these parents now, driving up to the Mall of the Suburbs in the Yukon and buying grills for Junior from a kiosk near the food court.

I agree with that.
Being a person who grew up in neighborhoods (hoods in Cleveland, Lorain, Elyria) where kids were basically forced to be in gangs for protection among other things, I find it ridiculous that kids who grew up in nice areas with no gangs would actually want to be in a gang. Its very backwards. The only place these kids could have gotten it from is media. They see these movies, games, and hear music with gangs and think theyll be cool if they can say theyre in one. Ive seen it first hand in several suburbs Ive traveled through.
I guess they just dont know any better. A lot of real gang members I grew up with would have loved to not have to deal with that lifestyle after they saw first hand how bad it was. Sure everythings fun at first, but then it gets real. You start seeing your friends get injured or killed, people overdoes on drugs that you sold them, you cant be friends with certain people. Ive even seen kids fight their own brother/cousin because they were part of a rival gang. Its ridiculous that someone who was not forced into that lifestyle would actually want it.

what if yo kid whoop you azz n put da gun in yo face. wha chu gon say den sucka.
I'm kidding. Kids have always operated in gangs rather they call it that or not. It's human nature for a lot of people. It doesn't help that kids are taught to stick together by their parents. It's not just the black project kids either. When the skinhead scene was still booming here all I heard from these guys was we got to stick together. Unfortunately for me I never had that wolf pack type mentality. On the brighter side I got pretty fast and good at dodging flying objects growing up.
People just need to explain to there kid's how it is. If you really want to be successful gangster then don't try to copy cat what these idiots are doing. Their telling law enforcement exactly who they and what their doing. You’re either faking the funk or your destined for spending good time locked up. I’m kidding again. Don’t explain anything and just slap the dog sheet out of em as you suggested.
Thank you for your time and good night.

I agree.
I used to live near Memphis, TN and people here always talk about how bad OTR in Cincy is and all and sometimes I just laugh when I think about Memphis compared to Cincy. What's crazy is that Memphis is heck of a lot smaller than Cincy too, but Cincy doesn't have jack on Memphis as far as crime or gangs go.

To be fair, Memphis is almost twice as big as Cincy if you only include city proper.

^ That's all subjective. You can 't tell when you entering the city or not. everything is totally integrated.
