There was some kid's funeral across the street from my office and one group of about 30 all dressed in red congregated on one corner and about the same number of folks all dressed in blue all stood right in front of the church. About ten girls all dress in blue showed up. No one was smiling, but I think they all looked cute in their little colors. Admittedly, I did not wait around to see if everyone got along well. My building was built in 1863 and the walls are not excatly what you would choose for stopping bullets.

Any wanna be teen can wear those colors....when I think of Gangs, I think of organized gangs, those are the people I would be afraid of, NOT the punks who stand on the corners THINKING they are a bad -ss ocassionally selling weed or stealing something from a local store as a way to get into a neighborhood gang.

Simply put these so called gangs that some ppl are deathly afraid of n Cincinnati are not really gangs. Jus petty thieves, wannabes, and jobless males who think sellin nickel, dime and qtr bags are somehow gonna make em rich.

Growing up in the inner city.. it's the wannabe's and teenagers who will shoot you more than not over nothing. Gangs in Cleveland are typically neighborhood/streets/projects related... They may not be the gangs in the typically sense, but they are certainly dangerous or Cleveland wouldn't be ranked #10 in crime. IMO, it's the teen wannabe's who have street cred to prove and will shoot unprovoked. Just yesterday in Cleveland three 16 year olds were shot in separate incidents. I've known 'real' gang members when living in different part of the nation and they aren't more inherently dangerous then anywhere else. If that were the case Los Angeles would be the most dangerous city in the US.

Cincinnati is extremely safe. the crime here is quite isolated. And, if you don't go walking around OTR at night trying to buy drugs or sex, and you don't go to Price Hill to show off your 24" rims at the UDF.
