Hmmm, you learn something new everyday. I always thought that the name "cornhole" was a Cincinnati thing. I never heard of it until I moved down here.

All I remember growing up is horse-shoes. But a couple of boxes and a few corn-bags are easier than driving stakes into the ground and picking up dirty, metal horse-shoes... not to mention the safety.
But selling a cheap set of the game at Kroger is not what I mean by marketing the game. There needs to be one name for it, and anything but "corn-hole" would be good. Then try and get if featured in a beer commercial or on some t.v. show and people will wonder "what is that?" There could be an official "alternative name for corn-hole authority" that sets rules and sets up contest. I mean, if bowling is so close to being considered a sport, why not this game? (anything that can be done while drinking cannot be called a sport)
I guess, by these posts, that it is more prolific than I thought. Though, I haven't exactly been going around asking people about corn-hole.

If my memory serves me correctly- before we started making these game sets at the agency we were provided with a choice of three different names to submit for the games sets. I definitely did not vote for cornhole. I am not impressed with the name.

are you kidding me? cornhole is for losers! it's a baby game!
i would frequently see homemade cornhole games for sale for 150.00 on people's front lawns and when i would go to the fabric store for canvas it was all gone because of the cornholers buying it all up for those stupid beanbags!
i did make cornhole casserolle this year for thanksgiving though!

It's about as fun as darts, pool, and shuffleboard. It's something to do while drinking, and it's outside. I've played worse "baby games" than cornhole.

Cornhole took off after I left the Cincy area in 2000, but I was from the east side, anyway. I came back for a cookout at a friend's house, and my first reaction to "let's play cornhole!" was "um, let's WHAT!?!?"

I refuse to call it cornhole. Icky. Although it's a bit funnier when you've had a few Hudys.

I lived in Jersey for a bit...I mentioned Cornhole and everyone that was in ears distance of me had to pick their mouths up off the floor. I am assuming it means a whole lot of different over there. LOL
I have also mentioned in MI (Detroit) and got the same reaction. Must be a Cinci thing!

What agency are you referring to? And what were the other choices?
