Hello,

My husband and I are looking to move up towards the Lebanon area (looking for more land/ less cookie-cutter). We have a young son with autism and want to be careful to move into a good school district that will provide him with some good special needs programs. Does anyone have information specifically relating to this? I know some schools may have higher ratings, but are terrible with special needs.

Lebanon City schools, Little Miami schools, Mason, Kings, Loveland are the areas we are focusing on right now.

Thanks so much!

Hi Becky, we live in Lebanon and our daughter graduated from Lebanon High School. I don't have first-hand experience with the special needs program here, but ratings for Ohio schools are broken down into categories and one of these is the academic progress of students with disabilities. Lebanon Exempted Village Schools gets a B in this category:

Pages - District-Report

You can check out the Ohio Department of Education website to find out how other school districts rank. Maybe this is not exactly what you need, but it might give you some basis for comparison besides anecdotes from individuals.

I am sure Lebanon is not the only area in Greater Cincinnati that offers interesting houses with large lots, but if that's what you are looking for we've got them. We are old house fans and bought our dream brick Gothic here on three acres, and at a good price. Let me know if you need area information.

Thank you for your reply, Scott! I have looked at those pages, but with the new rating system and vague explanations I wasn't really getting a whole lot of information. I'm glad to hear you like Lebanon though and that your daughter had a positive experience.
