Hey,

So I'm in sick, messing around with Uber on my phone, and for obvious reasons the service does not extend to Oxford. But when I first got onto the app I was greeted with a message:

"20% off fares in Cincinnati!"

Naturally, I changed my location to spots around Cincinnati, and to my surprise there were very few Uber cars. 1am, on a Friday night in Clifton, and the closest Uber was 19 minutes away. 19 minutes!! All the available ones, and there were few, seemed to be clustered in the Sycamore school district.

So I looked north. No Ubers available in West Chester, IMO the place that would need it the most, nor any in Hamilton, Middletown, etc. Then I go further north.

Anywhere north of 675 and south of downtown in Dayton, I could get an Uber in 5 minutes. North of downtown, if really close by it was about 5 minutes but along I-70 it estimated 10-15 minutes. Heck, even in Tipp City I could get an Uber in 15 minutes. And Uber is still actively recruiting new drivers in Dayton.

So what gives??
Do any of you guys use Uber and can explain this to me? Is Lyft a bigger deal in Cincy? Or is there something else going on of which I'm not aware...

Ok, I take everything I said above back.

I just got on again - this time Cincy was full of Uber Drivers, 4 minutes to get one from Clifton and wall-to-wall in OtR.

Dayton was reverse. 5 minutes to get out of downtown, 12 minutes to get a ride from the Dayton mall area.

Must just be the flow of the app haha. So sorry about the confusion!

Wither way, do any of you guys use the app or drive for Uber in the area? If so, how is it? Any different than any other part of the country?
