Default Roselawn Question

My fiance and I just found an incredible home, perfect for what we're looking for in roselawn.

I did not feel threatened or as if i were in a dangerous place at all when we toured the home. The homes were clean, yards well kept, streets freshly paved and well maintained and a lot of pricey cars in driveways. All signs of a good safe place.

But when i looked up crime states from the past 3 years I am now reconsidering the house purchase. They average about 3 murders a year in what seems a small place. Plenty of burglary and larceny to go around too.

I'm wondering if this area is larger than i thought and perhaps there is a safe side and not so safe side of town? The home is huge and everything we're trying to find, so any help from people who live there would be very much appreciated.

i can be reached on this board or at palmtreemandy@yahoo.com

THANKS!!

Default Roselawn

I think they are basing this info with Roselawn being so close to Bond Hill. There is alot of crime in Bond Hill but Roselawn is kind of a quiet community to me. If you have kids then you may want to reconsider another community for the Cincinnati Public School system is not good.

mandyloo,

I'm just curious, but what street will you be living on? This might give me a better idea of whether or not the area is safe.

Roselawn is gradually going down hill..I went to Elementary school there, and the entire neighborhood was immaculate, I lived there from 98-2001 and the neighborhood got worse. I lived in a beautiful home, on a gaslit street, but anywhere north of summit road, and it is awful, that is where most of the crime is..if you are on the side near bond hill, that is the quiet side...the property values are not increasing, and we moved while we could still get decent money for our house. It depends on what you are looking for, if you are only going to stay for a short time, it may be okay, but if I had kids, and I wanted something long term, I wouldnt move there.

I would recommend buying a house in Roselawn only to my enemies. Why? In a word: "crime." Want another word? Try "taxes." Unless you and your fiancee are planning to be childless, you will eventually have to deal with Cincinnati Public Schools or pay for a ticket to private schools. I'll put this as delicately as I can. CPS does not have a good reputation for fostering an environment conducive to the educational process.
