Default Relocating to Cincinatti (Hebron KY)

We are going to be relocating to Cincinnati in early 2009. I will be working in Hebron, KY and would like no more than a 25-30 minute (max) commute. I will have one child in the 7th grade, public schools Any suggestions on good neighborhoods/cities to consider? I'd like a neighborhood with a downtown with restaurants and shops to walk to if posssible. I'd also appreciate good public middle and high schools. Assume houses up to $450K would be no problem (but I'd rather stay in the $300s or below if possible).

Default I'd look in Hebron

If you are going to be working in Hebron, you should look at houses in Hebron. I have a friend who built there and it was very nice. I'm sure you could get a great deal there because it is a bit of a drive for those working in downtown Cincy. I'm not sure about school districts there though. We don't have kids. A lot of people in Northern KY send kids to private schools, but most of them have religious affiliations. I know that Covington Catholic (boys school) and Notre Dame (girls) are good ones in the Park Hills area. Also, Park Hills is a great area to live in too. It is very close to Covington and Crestview Hills for shopping and restaurants, and the drive from there to Hebron wouldn't be bad. I'd definitely check it out. Good luck.

As far as I know Hebron doesn't have a downtown and is nice but the prices are way deflating for housing (overbuilt).
I suggest Ft Mitchell, hands down. Or Villa Hills (Moderator cut: advertising), Park Hills, Ft Wright and I can tell you I've lived in all three areas and enjoyed it.

Good luck!
