Where do you live for Walnut Hills schools? This is a good school?
I graduated from Walnut Hills. Its a very diverse school and has some very good teachers. They offer a lot of after school stuff and many AP classes. One of the best public schools in the country for sure.

You should take a look at Milford, Loveland, Lebanon, Waynesville, Wilmington, Madeira, Blue Ash, and perhaps Oxford. Some of these may be a little too far for your commute. I really like Madeira, but it may be a little pricey for housing.

I have lived in Lebanon. Great small town with good schools about 40mins from downtown.

I have lived in Oxford (Miami University is there). Really interesting town, close to Hamilton, decent schools, may be a little too far to commute.

I work in Blue Ash. Close to Cincy, good solid school system, a little sprawled out, but good solid houses there. Very close to Kenwood Mall.

Wilmington is a small town surrounded by rural areas. Good schools, but may be too far from Cincy.

I also just thought of Montgomery. Interesting small town, good schools, variety of forms of housing from apartments to condos to houses. Also very close to Kenwood Mall.

Blue Ash, Madeira, and Montgomery are very near one another. All are an easy commute to Cincy.

Good luck on your move

I forgot Milford. Milford is a small city in its own right, but has easy access to Cincy via 275. It has a still charming downtown surrounded by new development like movies, restaurants, subdivisions. There should be affordable housing there and the schools are still good, despite some budget problems. There is some shopping there like Kohl's and it is near Eastgate Mall. I really like Milford a lot. It doesn't get much attention, I think because it is east of the city, instead of north, like all the other places mentioned, but it is a nice community. I got to know Milford when I lived in Blanchester, a small town about 30 mins away from Milford. We used to go to Milford to eat out and do some shopping.

Blanchester itself is a nice community if you're really looking for a true small town with that "small town" America feel, but it is about an hour from downtown Cincy. I used to do that drive about once a week, which was not too bad. Most of it was a scenic drive once you got off 71, but it might be a little long for everyday.
