Hi, I'm planning a move to the Cincy area to attend grad school at UC. I'm originally from Defiance, OH (pop ~16,000) and did my undergrad in Dayton. I've gotten used to the Oakwood/Kettering area and would love to find a neighborhood with the same type feel as Oakwood, without the inflated property values, of course.
My biggest concern with Cincinnati, of course, is the crime. No kids yet, but I want to feel comfortable with my girlfriend walking the neighborhood alone. So far, I've looked at White Oak, Glendale, Evendale, Sharonville, Deer Park, Madeira, and Wyoming as strong possiblities, as I'm looking to go as high as the $150,000 range. My realtor is also strong on Covedale/Westwood, but I don't feel as safe in that area. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks! |

I would check out Mariemont.

White Oak is also good and I would not go to Westwood or Covedale as realtor suggested

Try Delhi, I have friends that have lived there for 40 years and it seems to still be an OK spot. Also you might try looking into Cleves. It used to be more country like but I am not sure in today's times. Kathy.
