That house is awesome, great views, can walk to the playhouse or art museum, and tons of restaurants / bars

You'll be more than fine. There are several large congregations, very active and visible in the community. The closest one to Mt. Adams is on Plum Street downtown, I'm forgetting the name. The Jewish newspaper, the American Israelite, is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, Jewish newspaper in the country (sorry, I can't find a web link).

Default Kids in Mt. Adams?

Unless they are teenagers & pretty independent, Mt. A isn't a great kids neighborhood IMO. However, its a great neighborhood for adults to "play" in. Hyde Park would keep you connected to the city (not far from Mt. A) and has its own small town square center. Warmer area for families & has an upscale stock of homes. HP is not a magnet for Jewish families, though. And private schools are a must anywhere in the city of Cinti itself.
Wyoming, a bit due north of Dwntwn & not the subdivision burbs, gives your kids a GREAT school system and the opportunity for Jewish friends. As a former NYC-er, Wyoming feels good to come home. Housing here can be sweet if large Victorians or Tudors are your style. Yes, its "smalltown" but an appreciation for the fine arts & education runs through it (no river). Too, it's a quick ride down the hill to the Clifton/University area & Dwntwn.
But plain & simple, Cinti ain't no city like you're used to city!
