Hi there,
My fiance and I are trying to get an apartment togetger but he has Crappy credit but a good job and I'm just starting to build my credit. We have applied for a few places but have gotten denied because of this. I was wondering if it was possible in the state of Ohio to have his gma sign a lease here for us and us not be on it and still live tgere and her not? All I want is a place that I can be with my love and my dog. And I'm starting to get really depressed about tge situation

I think that's called fraud. Most lease agreements will strictly prohibit this. Most lease agreements also either restrict sub-leasing, or require that the sub lessee also be screened the same way.

ALso, if they are pulling a hard inquiry on your credit report, it's not going to help to keep trying different places.

You could try finding a smaller apartment owner that will take a larger deposit in lieu of a good credit report.

Since he has a good job, could you make yourselves look more attractive to landlords, and offer to make a bigger security deposit----or pay the first 3 months up front? You got to sell the landlord on why they should entrust you with their abode. As an old boss used to say, "it's time to put your sales hat on."
