Does KC have any kind of "Chili Cookoff" where participants from local Chili Parlors or even local residents compete for the title of "Best Cincinnati Chili?" If not, might not be a bad idea for some of the area restaurants to look at sponsoring such an event.

Certainly the people that make the stuff do. I don't mean a Chili Cook Off with Texas Chili participants just Cincy Chili restaurants and also enterprising individuals that make it at home. This would be a good way to promote the city and also the Chili to the region and perhaps attract attention from people in other areas of the country that like the stuff. Like me.

I think it's a great idea, WILW!

Not sure if you want to meet new people and promote your radio station when you get here, but this seems like an awesome way to do both as a new Covington resident. Find a spot, coordinate the festival with some local orgs, and cover it on WILW radio. Just an idea at least, this definitely sounds like a cool festival idea

Might even do it in Dayton, which sometimes looks for things to do.... (...Not that I like the stuff, because I don't.)

Actually this is a very good idea at least the radio aspect of it. This is precisely the kind of event that not only helps a radio station (even a puny one like mine) to get established and become accepted in the community. Finding ways to benefit the community over and above entertainment in the form of music programs is key and this would be one way to do that. If I can still manage to move there (odds are much better now than a year or even six months ago) then I will certainly consider doing this.

Not sure about meeting people otherwise anywhere right now. I have a few friends and family that I am content to socialize with these days. Not really looking to add to my social circle right now. After the bad experiences I've had with people in the Indianapolis region (mostly middle age women) that is the last thing on my mind right now. But I do recognize Cincy is not Indy (thankfully) and that may change in time.

What is it with these Chili places and their obsession with naming their offerings after sexual acts?

A 3-way?
A 4-way?!?

Seriously?!?

I can only imagine the conversations at the local skyline.... what pervert even came up with the idea?

Personally I never saw it that way. This stuff was created 100 years ago when phrases such as those you described were not only not likely in use by people but probably were not even invented.

Seriously?? Your post is a joke, right? You think about group sex every time you go through a four-way stop sign, too?
