Diverse, safe. Has everything you need within walking distance. close to downtown. has an art house theatre and its own art center. Rec Center for the kids and several parks. The schools are cincinnati public, but a bi-lingual magnet school is in the neighbhorhood that is very good and Walnut Hills is the best public high school in the state.

I'm from L.A. and I just spent some time in Cincinnati recently. I know I'm not a native but it just seems to me that some of the people on this forum or this particular thread haven't really seen or lived much of anywhere else. If a single shooting on the news makes a city dangerous to live in, in general, then God Help Me. On L.A. news if there is a single shooting, it's a good day! LOL...(no shooting is funny, but it's just the idea of only ONE being a big deal that is funny...) The area of L.A. that I live in is quite rundown and dirty, over populated, cheap for L.A. standards and somewhat diverse (mostly hispanic in the "diversity" area) and pretty much blue collar. Cincinnati looked clean and uncrowded and pretty nice to me. ??? Anyway...it's an outsider's opinion, but I wanted to share my thoughts since I REALLY liked Cincy - or what I saw of her. I thought it was a lovely city, with history, pleasant surroundings, REALLY friendly people and just jaw droppingly beautiful neighborhoods. Anyway - don't yell at me. Just my "visitor's opinion". Have a great day everybody!

I agree with "Cali-moving". I spent 7 months in Cincinnati on a job assignment and found the city very safe/friendly. I am from Houston, and while the crime element may not be as bad as LA, it still is a huge city and crime is here. You guys have a very nice city and you should be proud of it.

Yeah, I like what I've seen of Cincinnati so far. Sure, parts of Price Hill, Over-the-Rhine, Clifton, Avondale, and Covington have their problem areas, but for the most part the city is quite safe and clean. Incredible park system, great neighborhoods, preserved architecture, and a gorgeous skyline. I think I'm going to like living up there!

This is to "Hartwell Girl". I've read this entire thread from beginning to end and it was really your heartfelt responses and thoughtful, powerful comments that prompted me to write my brief thoughts and impressions on Cincy. My husband and I really did like the city very much. We are seriously considering moving there in the near future. We're currently looking at houses etc. We spent some time there recently and we also went down to Louisville and Lexington on a "scouting mission" for possible places to move to. We liked Louisville very much, not crazy about Lexington, and Cincinnati was actually our favorite of the three. So...for what it's worth. Great posts. Thanks and have a GREAT weekend!

Maybe your family and these "people" should move the burbs were it's safer or start a COPS patrol in their neighborhood.
