Steeler fan here. Not gonna act like were better than anyone else, we have PLENTY of bad eggs. Still, the Bengals fans deserve that with how they acted. This is a lesson to the Bengals, if you invest in these players with bad character, it will eventually bite you in the ass.

I'd like to add something for those of you who may not be as close to the team as I am (as a fan) ...... the rivalry with the Steelers has become worse year by year. It has reached the point where I almost dread going to the home game against the Steelers. Their fans can be obnoxious and I have had to more than once ask people sitting behind me to quit waving their damn towels over my head. Boy ... that really p!sses them off and they just get worse. The players on the field hate each other and anybody who didn't expect some of the things that played out Saturday night just don't understand the current state of affairs. If I could be commissioner of the NFL for one day I would immediately place the Bengals and Steelers in different divisions. Playing each other 2 and sometimes 3 times a year is just too much and I think things will only get worse.

Folks who are on the hate Burfict bandwagon should understand something. For years the Bengals were the Steelers whipping boys. And everybody said that the Bengals needed to be tougher ... be like the Steelers with their intimidating physicality ("dirty players"). Well, the Bengals built a team that now has "dirty players" that can give as well as they can take and all of a sudden everyone is up in arms. Steeler fans are outraged. They certainly have short memories. And they certainly don't like a taste of their own medicine.

Sorry for the rant. I'm slowly getting over Saturday night's game. :-)
No matter how tough the Bengals make think they are, they don't know how to win. The Steelers were more than happy to take that game. I'm not mad at the Bengals, I just think its hilarious that every year people forget they are losers. They haven't won a playoff game since 91'. In that time period the Steelers have been to 4 SB and won 2. Been to maybe 8 AFC championship games in that time. It takes a lot more than just a division title to not be the Steeler's little brother.

One thing I will say, at least this recent Bengals team has been able to ignite the rivalry. Before this, the Bengals were in 4-6 range of Pittsburgh's biggest rivals while the Steelers were their #1.

I think you missed my point. I said I have never thrown anything on the field. You said, "it was obvious what a classless bunch of people are now attending Bengals games" which obviously would include me since I am a season ticket holder. So you were including me in that statement and I take offense to it. Is that too difficult for you to understand?

And I get the fact that "millions" on TV saw SOME fans throw a few things onto the field but you do realize that PBS holds about 65,000 people, right? Are you saying that you saw 65,000 "classless" fans throwing things onto the field? I didn't attend the game in person the other night but I did watch it on TV, same as you (I guess). But we must have been watching differently because I do not recall seeing 65,000 people throwing things onto the field.

I can recall only a couple other times that I have ever seen fans throw things onto the field when I've been in attendance. Once at PBS quite some years ago some jokers threw empty plastic beer bottles into the endzone (and were quickly escorted from the stadium by police). The other time was in old Riverfront when some fans were throwing snowballs onto the field.

So, to reiterate, your brush is way too broad. Waiting for an apology.

Hasn't your QB raped several women?

Maybe you should look at the hit Shazier put on Gio. Did you see how many Steeler players were celebrating in the middle of the field while Gio was still motionless on the ground? Or how you have an assistant coach pulling our players hair and another assistant coach on the field (which should have been a 15 yard penalty against the Steelers). That coach...in the middle of field he also got the game ball for causing Adam Jones to get the penalty, which is garbage on the refs and garbage on the the Steelers. How about Mike Mitchell taking out Eifert in the regular season?

I'm sorry, I hate the Steelers and their fans. Yes, the 2 or 3 Bengal fans out of 65,000 should not have thrown objects at the rapist...I mean QB and Burfict deserves most of the scorn he gets but to act like the Steelers aren't just as bad, if not worse is just silly.

And if we're your 4th to 6th rival then why are you trolling our board?

As the thread continues, remember to remain calm and respectful. The fact that you're talking about a sports team is no excuse to get so angry over the opinions of others - you know what they say about opinions.
Yac.

Both teams acted like heathens. Before that game, I was a Steelers fan for the sole reason that they would consistently beat the Bengals. And with the way the Bengals acted, I always thought it was important to root for a team that might instill some humility and modesty into them.

After the Saturday game, no way I can say the Steelers are worthy of anyone's respect or admiration. From coaching staff pulling Bengals players' hair to their attitude on the field I think they are disgusting. Just as much of a demon pit as the Bengals.

Now I'm all in for my former #2 team, the Colts. They may not have the best record, but they have class (although I don't think the way they got rid of Peyton was fair). And their sportsmanship is what really matters to me.

Jim Irsay has class? :-)

Oh c'mon. We could probably do a google search on and major sports franchise or major college program and find links like this. There are a-holes all over this country and sports often make rational people act irrational.

Boston comes to mind but I don't recall ever seeing this kind of behavior. I actually like the Benglas and want to see them win. As long as they are not playing the Giants or Dolphins or a game they play in is going to negatively impact the Giants or Dolphins chances to go to or while in the playoffs, I want to see them win.

But this stuff is hard to believe....
