From the Business Journal, two separate articles:

An additional comment from another Business Journal writer concerning the Brooking report...

"It's easy to become cynical about race relations these days with a steady trickle of stories, both local and national, calling into question whether this country is making any progress at all.

But it's critical, if you care about Cincinnati specifically or the fate of American cities in general, that we don't. So this news is heartening: Chris Wetterich reports that Cincinnati was one of only two cities that posted gains in all three areas of the Brooking Institution's latest "Metro Monitor" report, which measures growth, prosperity and inclusion in the nation's top 100 metropolitan areas. (The other was Greenville, S.C.)

Cincinnati has a long way to go to become the kind of inclusive city it can be, but it's important to stop and recognize its achievements: The new Brookings report is worth reading in its entirety; it was created to be used as a tool both for our political and business leaders."

Take a look at this article. Cincinnati Metro is by far Ohio's largest exporter. I had no idea. Value of exported goods is 26.3 billion. The next closest is Cleveland at only 8.8 billion. Incredible.

In keeping with my original post, a new media release further affirms the city's growing reputation for inclusiveness...
"Cincinnati is among the top U.S. cities for successful minority entrepreneurs, according to a report released Tuesday."

These statistics are misleading as they include all exports of GE Aviation even though most of the division goods are manufactured elsewhere. Ditto for other corporations headquartered in Cincinnati, Cleveland, or elsewhere.

You're responding to a poster who took this thread off-topic nearly a year ago. Both then and now, my focus is inclusiveness as it applies to Cincinnati's minorities, not its exports. I suggest that if you want to pursue that topic, you find an appropriate thread for that particular discussion.
