I got one thing to say: Y'all ain't got nothing to complain about until you come down to Nashville. The drivers and the highway infrastrucutre..WOW. I'm sure you may have heard. If not, start threading with some Nashville members. You know it's bad when people from Chi-town, NYC, MIA, ATL, and LA and even other cities in our own state(i.e. Memphis ) give you freaked-out responses after they've experience driving in or passing through Nashvegas. Just a few years ago, we ranked #1 as a city in the nation on 7-year consecutive streak
as being THE MOST DANGEROUS CITY TO DRIVE IN in automobiles accidents and DUIs. Just come on down to Nashville. I'll guarantee you, you won't complain about Cincy..but then again, obviously, I haven't lived in or been back to the 'Nati in over 17 years.

My pet peeve about Cincinanti -- so many of the locals aren't friendly. Going to a party in this city can be paaaiiinfulll ... If you didn't grow up here and go to a Catholic high school here, there are a lot of people who simply are not interested in getting to know you.

I know there are plenty of other choices but seriously... La Rosas is some of the worst Pizza I have ever tasted. I have no idea how enough people could stomach that sweet pizza sauce to catapolt that company into it's current "every corner" status. My office always orders it whenever we have a free lunch and it never gets any better. Yuk.
While I am on the subject of sweet sauce, Montgomery Inn is awful also. Everyone told us how good it was when we first got here. "Ohhh you have to try Montgomery Inn... You will LOVE the sauce". We finally went to the one in Montgomery for a Christmas party and I dipped a french fry in it. My wife did at the same time and we both thought we had dipped into ketchup by mistake. Once we realized that this was the famous sauce we both looked at each other and cringed in stereo. The worst part was that I had a big slab smothered in the sauce sitting right next to those fries. That sauce is horrid. (Porkopolis is much better all around btw...)

Well not to address La Rosas specifically, but my theory is, that whatever is ordered for the office is the lowest common denominator food-wise.

Admittedly, I have not read this entire thread so this might have been mentioned.
I hate traffic reporters who tell me there is a problem in "the cut in the hill" or "on the lateral" etc.
Who the He!! knows where all of these euphemisms are located?????????????

Mikey1003, I know how you feel; there's nothing like driving in a strange city listening to the local traffic reporter blasting thru a long list of tieups that you can barely understand, much less be able to figure out where these locations are or worse yet, whether they will affect your travel...
But to assist you in getting to know the Tr-State:
Normally, the "Cut in the Hill" refers to the long slope, cut out of a hill, that carries I-71/I-75 down to the Ohio River in Northern KY. (there's also the "Kenwood Cut", which refers to the area at the Kenwood Ave. exit (Exit 11) on I-71, just North of Downtown Cincinnati). At the bottom of the "Cut in the Hill", the Brent Spence Bridge (or just the "B.S. Bridge" to locals) carries I-71/I-75 across the river. The bridge that carries I-471 across the Ohio River is the "Big Mac" Bridge; so named because it's yellow arches make it look like the Golden Arches of a certain fast food chain.
The "Purple People Bridge" carries foot traffic acroos the Ohio River and it's about halfway between the B.S. and the Big Mac...
The "Lateral" or "Norwood Lateral" connects I-71 and I-75 through Norwood (a suburb just north of Cincinnati) It's also known as Ohio Route 562 A little farher North from the Lateral is the "Ronald Reagan Highway" (OH Route 126) It's also a good way to get from I-71 to I-75 (or vice versa) in case of a backup.
Welcome to Cincy's traffic!

Thanks, I've lived here all my life. I should have said everywhere. It is a bad way to direct people around problem areas..

Who is this Ronald Reagan of whom you speak?
Perhaps you mean the Cross County Highway?

Amen! He didn't even come for the naming and he was still OK. Sent his daughter.
