I had to basically deal with this sort of stuff in places like Pleasant Ridge, Bond Hill, East Westwood, Westwood, Evansville, and so on. Since I had to deal with that sort of stuff for so many years, I decided to move out of the city limits itself when I went to purchase a house for my family. I'm now in Delhi Township (which is surrounded by Cincinnati on 3 of 4 sides), and it's much better than any place I lived at in Cincinnati. Cincinnati may have been a very nice place to live in at one point of time, but not any more.

As for living outside of the city limits, it's fine if you have your own transportation, but if you don't, it's not so easy. While there is bus service in some places, it's rather limited. Not only that, but in other places, the trusties of those municiple boards refuse to let Metro into their limits with the argument that when the buses do, that's when the so called bad people will move into their area and they don't want that.
As a resident of Cincinnati and then as a parent of a teenage boy, this post bothers me. Cincinnati IS a nice place to live, you may not like it, but I do and that is why I choose to stay. As for the comment about children, I have a son, and he has been taught to respect other people and other peoples property. More importantly, he has been taught that HIS actions affect other people, which is something most adults dont even think about these days in ANY City. As I have stated before, if he would EVER show up on the frotn porch with a police officer, he better be thankful an officer is standing next to him. NOT ALL Parents allow their children to get away with things they shouldnt be doing, and THAT is not isolated to the City of Cincinnati, its everywhere.

Wow, and you use sources like Wikipedia. Your arguement makes no sense. You can't accect facts and realities. You are someone who lives in the suburbs, and hates cities. Get use to it. You obviously know nothing about downtown. Its extremely lively, home to many fortune 500 companies (reseach Procter and Gamble), and lots of awesome projects underway.

Your arguement is useless.

I know why people leave... they dont want to watch some bum taking a crap in the alleys downtown. Ask most smokers downtown (fountain square area) and they should have seen this.

They dont want to put up with crime in Hamilton county, they dont want to have to look over their shoulder at night. I wouldnt ever raise a family downtown. And all the do gooders that stay in hyde park and mt adams and claim there isnt anything wrong with raising a family within Cincinnati, then why dont you send your kids to CPS rather than the private schools.

You don't travel at all do you?

Go to any MAJOR city in the country... key word there, MAJOR. Cities have bums, its a reality. Hamilton County? Your talking about a place with almost 1 million people, stop basing a few area, once again, in a major city on a whole county.

Its no big deal, you just cant stand to have anyone talk down about Cincinnati. I love the city, but you're so full of it, you cant even admit there is stuff like this in the city.'

But there you go again, you start arguments against stuff I dont say.

I never said more people are leaving than coming in... but you bring that up. I said I understand why people leave.

The fact you decide to go on with the name calling just shows you feel cant argue.

Why dont you bring up your street car closing causing the huge decrease in population in the 1950s again... that went far. Maybe you could respond to try to defend your own BS

I am curious though... what CPS do your kids go to.

And as for the increases... I wonder if it has anything to do with the poor economy and people not being able to spend $ on private education.

But really, you're going to defend the CPS based on increased enrollment? I will say schools like Walnut Hills are excellent, but to defend the entire CPS is a joke, like most of your posts

Increases and the economy? Its called Cincinnati is experiencing lots of growth and construction. People are moving in!

And yes, you did say more people are leaving than coming in. Go back and read your posts!!!

Check out the new stats, Cincinnati is growing whether you like it or not. Its not a matter of someone talking down about the city, its a matter of someone getting their facts straight, and yours are obviously messed up!!!

Anyway, I know plenty of people who have moved to Cincy from around the country, and they love it here.

I second this.

I will raise my kids in the city and they'll learn and know how to respect others. Don't be so shortsighted ... there's a big world out there, dodgester.

Actually I travel every week for work to major cities. I never said no other cities have bums. But feel free to show me the post where I did.

Cincinnati is not the entire Hamilton county. Im talking the city, not Montgomery or Blue Ash.

Its the way you say it, go back and read it, its quite evident in almost every one of your posts.

Yes, my exact point. Cincinnati is not all of Hamilton County, the city ITSELF is experiencing growth too. And what cities do you travel to on a weekly basis? This should be interesting...

Didnt think you'd be able to find it. Nice try though.

And for your amusement...the last Columbus, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Charleston, Lexington, Louisville, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Cleveland, Buffalo to name a few.

And each of those is not on a weekly basis like you said, I said I travel to major cities every week.. meaning 1 per week. Thought I'd save you the trouble of trying to say I said something else.

LOL find what? What are you, like two? And btw, I like how you said your stubborn, because you just meant your match. I will keep proving my point.

I highly doubt you travel like you say you do. I mentioned I travel meaning that I know quite a bit on cities, not nearly everything out there, but enough. So then, to up your arguement and make yourself look good, you feel like you must say you travel quite often.

And what did you want me to find again? I will be more than happy to prove you wrong.

You've never been in sales have you. When you're a sales rep, you travel for a living. Most businesses are located in cities. As a sales rep, you call on busineses. I am a sales rep. Hence, traveling to cities every week.

To tell you the truth, I didnt even see that you travel alot.

And ... I dont know what you consider the suburbs.. but I live in Cincinnati. Another baseless assumption gone wrong
