No, I'm saying there is a hood that has a substantial amount of gays, and that's Northside. The gay pride flags decking Hamilton Ave. should be enough to let someone visiting know that they are in a heavy GLBT community.

I would just have to guess there is a pretty strong correlation between the health of a city with a population over a quarter million and the size of its gay community.

^ I'm pretty sure that the economically booming communities in Utah would dispute that claim

I think the correlation between gay people and vibrant cities is simply that childless gay couples are way less likely to be scared off by a bad school district. Therefore they are often the barometer of gentrification.

But regardless, I've also noticed the general lack of an overt gay population in Cincinnati (at least for a metro of 2 million+). People mention the Northside, but conversely I've also heard that there really isn't THAT much to the gay community in the Northside. It's not a huge deal for me one way or another, but it is noticable.

Um, I don't want to get into a debate, but city limits are totally arbitrary. They are useless when comparing cities across the nation. Metro populations are the only relevant basis of comparison.

Tell that to people paying city taxes and being shortchanged by city services.
