How is the Interracial Dating scene in Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky, especially NK? Is it accepted there, see a lot of it or is it rare and frowned upon, stairs??? Thanks for your input...

i am in an interracial marriage in nky. florence is over 90% white, so any racial diversity sticks out.... i am hoping to move to cincinnati soon, because the racism here is hurting our family. a couple of months ago, someone told my husband he should go back where he came from while we were eating out at a restaurant.

Yes it is acceptable here as a great majority of the country regardless of what the news says could care less whom you date, marry etc. and Cincinnati/NK is no different. That's your bedroom, not ours
Not to mention this thing called "hate crimes", personal freedom to decide who you want to be with, that sort of thing. Now if you were going to the boonies than yes you should be worried, but not just for that reason. Stay out of Rowan Co Ky if Gay because Kim Davis might get a little jealous....just saying. Last thing anyone wants to see is her ugly ...back on the news. Months worth of nightmares. Shudders.
And for those who don't likes it tells em ....off. They don't pay your bills.

that's insane. i realize this is still an issue, and while martyrdom isn't typically on anyone's agenda, the problem will perpetuate unless folks in your situation stay put. take people out of their comfort zones, one of the things i took from fahrenheit 451 (irrelevant). but obviously be nice about it. it's unfortunate, but if you can put up with it because everything else is ideal, that's how things can change. i'm a white guy, i can suggest things like this. besides, a hippie like me isn't welcomed in certain parts of town. doesn't stop me, but nobody exactly wants to follow my lead

We could put up with if we had to as adults, but it hurts my kids. They deserve better. And honestly, living somewhere in which bigotry is celebrated sucks for us as adults, too.

Curious why you moved to community in Kentucky with 90%+ white population in which any racial diversity sticks out? If it were a 90%+ African-American community, you would hear plenty as well.
Maybe you should find a racially balanced community and the likelihood of comments towards either of you may diminish.
Another thing to keep in mind: people say ignorant things, it hurts, but don't let them control your life. We've all had verbal insults thrown at us.

Not to mention this thing called "hate crimes", personal freedom to decide who you want to be with, that sort of thing.
