Hello, I am curious to hear from people who are raising kids in Cincinnati.

How do you find it as a place to grow up? What are its main pluses and minuses, and how does it compare to other places you have lived? Schools and crime are obviously relevant, but also interested to hear about things like outdoor activities, community feeling, and general kid-friendly amenities.

I think it is excellent. All of the amenities of a big city but nothing too crowded or unapproachable. Boston was horrendous for kids. Tons of stuff to do but with bazillions of people competing to do the same stuff. I really felt I had to fight for every little opportunity in Boston or my kid would miss out.

One thing that is terrible here is daycare. There are just very few of them.

I don't recommend Oak Hills School District. Especially for disabled children or working parents. They just don't seem to get it. But if you can afford Catholic school the West Side of Cincinnati isn't so bad.
