I have read every post, what a trip down memory lane.
Kevin, are you thinking of Pete's Place?

Does anyone recall Peri's Pancakes at Government Square near the old Greyhound bus station? I never set foot in there, but it had a big flashy sign in front. "Peri's" was outlined in cursive letters filled with blinking incandescent light bulbs, against a purple background.

I was just thinking of that place, but couldn't remember it's name! My grandmother would go down to Government Square each year when I was a boy to get US Postal uniforms. She would take me along and then go to Peri's for pancakes. We would hardly ever eat out at that age so that was a huge treat to eat out, much less pancakes DOWNTOWN!! Wow!

Kluzewski had a restaurant in the Metropole Hotel downtown; The Precinct is still at Delta and Columbia Parkway; when I worked at a bank at 7th and Vine, I often ate lunch at Bob Jones Restaurant, though I don't recall where it was. The Tropical Orange Bar was at Fifth and Walnut. Wasn't the chili place across from Shillito's the Empress? The Prime and Wine burned a number of years ago; there's a big jewelry store on the site now. While we're on the topic, does anyone remember Stenger's Cafe (Leo Sunderman's place) at 1720 Vine?

Yeah, they tore the Wigwam down, and the property's still sitting vacant. I remember the Carousel, but the neighborhood's gone to hell around it.

Izzy's remodeled and is open again at the same downtown location. They market their kosher pickles in grocery stores in the area now.

Salad bar? Try Houston's Restaurant, north of Mason, OH on US 42. Exceptional, and the restaurant feature's frogs' legs, too.

There was a Sixty Second Shop on Central Parkway, just north of Findlay Street, in the 1950's.
