Anyone remember MacIntoshes on Galbraith? My wife and I had dinner there the night we bought our house in Cincy (1986).

Before the tornado and the move, MacIntoshes had the best Sloppy Joe sandwiches. We went there all the time.

The bigger restaurant, across the street and after the storm, was very good..in business 15-20 years as Steak and Kettle

Closed and went through several other restaurants over the years

Supposedly, it just went through a modernization and menu change. There was an article in the Enquirer within the past mont or so.

been quite a distinction for Cincinnati, given its size.

The closest I ever got to any of these was Pigall's, when its rating was
four stars, as well as La Normandie, which was located in the lower level
of the Masionette. Parents and their friends, however, did step out to
these spots on occasion.
Yes, all three had 5 stars at the same time. I believe that Pigalles closed first (we never ate there, but did eat at the other two)..The Gourmet Room closed second and the Maisonette up and closed with no notice within the last two or three years.

They were still selling gift certificates the night before they closed. It was the longest running (34 or 36 years) continuous 5 star in the world.

Sad, all gone

I used to get an Ollie burger with cheese and their special sauce and fries with extra spices...those were the best fries I have ever had in my life.
You are so right, those were the best fries in the world!! I will have to call Vic and see if they are still in business! I will let you know in a few days!

Wasn't there a Chili Town on the West Side?
