blah blah blah it's gonna be another 10 years before OTR is a real neighborhood. NEXT ! |

Even though redevelopment is happening at a fast pace ... I don't really see 10 years as that long? I mean, it's been in decline for decades upon decades.

For heaven's sakes ... Over-the-Rhine is already a real neighborhood; it always has been.
Thanks for the pix, Traveler. ![]() |

This isn't NYC. The revitalization of OTR is not going to happen overnight.

I drove through there the other weekend. The eastern portion was really nice and I remember thinking to myself...Wow, this isn't as bad as everyone goes on about. We then drove up and down the blocks making our way westward and wooo-weee that place gets reeealy bad.
Beautiful old buildings though. |

What do you mean the place gets really bad? I have never been robbed by trash or a boarded up building

Oh just your typical 20 or so shifty teenagers at every corner with 40oz bottles in bags and police having either someone in custody or interviewing people at every other side street. Homeless people passed out in door jams and the occasional crazy person yelling off into nothing (or at our car, couldn't tell which was the case). That is really bad.
