Default Electric/Gas/Water Bills?

Hello, I will be moving up from Houston, TX this summer and am curious about bills in Cincinnati area.

For a nice-sized 3 level home, maybe 10-15 years old, what are the following averages:

1) Electric bill? My small home here can get well over $300/month in the summers! Probably averages around $200 on a 1800 sq ft home built in early 80's.
2) Gas bill? This is practically a non-factor down south but probably average $50/month.
3) Water bill? We have what is called a MUD tax ($350/yr) which "subsidizes" the cost. Separate water bill around $30/month bill. I think I heard this depends if there is an earnings tax or not?
4) Trash? Is this included in the water bills or earnings tax? Currently mine is not and is roughly $10-15/month.
5) Telephone bill with no frills? I might bundle digital phone and Roadrunner, but we'll see.
6) I'm keeping Dish Network if they service the area I move into. I couldn't stand the lack of customer service from Comcast down here.

I know these are very general and depends on a lot of factors, but just want to see what this is like. The earnings tax surprised me. I'll be working in Cincinnati so I think it is roughly 2%....ouch.

Thank you.

For natural gas prices, you might want to check out Natural Gas Guru it shows some gas bills and discusses heating prices in Cincinnati.

Currently renting a 1999 2 bdrm condo, maybe 1000 sq feet. Current heating/electric bills (combined by Duke Energy) are about $200/month for the worst of the winter. Of course, I currently live alone - so there are no lights/tv on when I am not home. Heating in this place is electric, but water heater is gas. (weird).

Our summers are hot and muggy, so you'll need AC, but not like you need it in Houston.

Water bill (municipality of Monroe) is running $40/month, with $13 of that being trash pick up.

Cable package from time warner (digital cable, phone, internet) = $125/month, but you can do better.

Good luck!

If you live in the city of Cincinnati, you don't pay extra for trash pickup. That 2.1 percent income tax does get you a little something ...
