I live in Sardinia (Central Brown County) it takes around 45 minutes to get to downtown Cincinnati it's about the same to get to Sharonville depending on traffic.

google says sardinia is 52 minutes away from cincinnati and that doesn't factor in traffic.
I hate when people from the suburbs say it takes less time to get into town then it actually does

Is there anything about the suburbs you do like?
You can drive 52 miles in 45 minutes. Its called driving faster than 60mph. Also, depending on where this person lives in Sardinia - she may be closer than or farther than 52 miles. Maps always give you city center to city center.
Also, the original poster asked specifically about RURAL areas. What part of downton Cincinnati would you have them live in that would be RURAL?? By definition the person wants to not just be in the 'burbs but well well past them.
I know you are a big Cinci booster, and that's awesome because its always good that people have pride in their area and promote it -- but everyone from the suburbs isn't evil (which you kind of seem to suggest in the threads of most of your posts) and isn't deliberately trying to lie about the time it takes to get somewhere.
The speed limit on many highways outside of the city is 65mph, so you may not even be driving illegally to make that in 45 minutes.
Let's try to focus on helping this person find someplace for under 6 figures (which I personally don't know where they should look) and not make this another war between city and sprawl.

I'll be a little more specific:
In Warren County: Harlan, Washington, Massie, Salem townships.
In Clermont County: Goshen, Wayne, Jackson, Stonelick, Williamsburg, Tate, Monroe, Ohio townships.
In Brown County: Fayetteville/Perry Township; Sterling Township, Mt. Orab/Pike Township.
All the school districts in these areas are fair to middlin'. They do the best they can with the money they have, while struggling with encroaching development.
Frankly, probably the best you'll do for $100,000, even in the farther-out areas, is a small ranch house. But good luck to you.

Wow I think I should know how long it takes to get to downtown Cincinnati. I work in Eastgate, and it only takes a half an hour to get to I-275 from here. DT Cincinnati doesn't take that long to get to from SR32/275. The only time it'd take longer than 45 minutes would be coming home during rush hour when 32 EB is backed up...Google factors in the likely 55 MPH speed limit from Ford in Batavia to 275. I go 60 like the majority.
Anyway I don't want to turn this into a war of words. The area I suggested has a more rural feel than say western of central Clermont County, but it is obviously further out. Mount Orab is growing quite a bit and a few big things are being built like a Mercy Health Center and a Walmart Supercenter. The only let down of living out this way is to do shopping you'd have to go to the Eastgate area which isn't that far away and plus if you have to go to Sharonville you'd pass through there anyway. We do have a Krogers though Also some of the other areas some have mentioned are good to look at as well.

Well i live in Sabina which is in eastern Clinton County. It is about 8 miles off of I-71 on US RT 22 about 10 miles east of Wilmington. We have Plenty of rural areas around here. The entire county only has about 43,000 people. From Here, depending on traffic, you can be around Sharonville in about 50 minutes or so. Sabina is a village with close to 2,900 people. Average home prices in Richland Township is $170,000. There is all kinds of properties outside of town. The school district is East Clinton Local Schools. Despite some bad raps it is an improving dist. with about 1,600 students. The graduation rate is about 90% the area is like 98% white and average family income is about $39,000. A nice area to be from and to raise a family. Hope you check it out we are always welcoming new people.

I would say the outskirts of Lebanon, but given that my 2 bedroom, 1 bath sitting on 2 city lots was estimated a few years back at $110 K, I don't know how easy it would be to stick to your budget. Good luck in your neighborhood/ house hunt.
