Doing the math on @CB_Connector numbers, the average streetcar ridership over 14 days of revenue service exceeds 5,000.

Ridership was projected to be 3,000 per day.

SORTA CEO Dwight Ferrell says they want to eliminate the validation process on the ticket vending machines.
And from the Cincinnati Journal, a supportive update concerning such ridership, but also mentioning major problems:

Summary: ridership, excellent; problems, yes.

WATCH: Are two streetcars on the weekends enough to handle crowds? - Story

Mind Bafflingly the city is running only 2 or 3 cars during major events downtown. Hopefully a change to a more progressive leadership next year will see some better leadership as this current tea party guy Mayor running the show posing as a Democrat but for all intents and purposes fits right in with a Texas senator Ted Cruz wants this thing to fail so badly so he can feel vindicated as right in saying this project will be a money loser for Cincy's taxpayers.

It's a total failure of leadership. Cranley is still butthurt over losing his idiotic campaign to stop it. If he really wanted what was best for the streetcar and the city we'd have more cars running and would be planning the uptown route. Plus the city just announced a surplus. But I thought nobody was going to ride the streetcar?

If the damn choo choo stopped breaking down perhaps then it could run more frequently?

And the shot at Ted Cruz is a joke. This has nothing to do with him or his politics. Shows how out of touch some of you are on this issue.

The Little Engine that could. :-) I never said it was not succeeding but the mere stature of the street car classifies it as a Choo Choo.

To put this into perspective. My radio station is a flea powered signal compared to the full powered licensed radio stations. While my radio station will sound and has sounded every bit as good as a licensed station, the range of it is minuscule compared to stations using hundreds to tens of thousands of watts. Thus, describing legal unlicensed AM broadcasting as flea powered or a Peanut Whistle is appropriate. Same can be said for the Choo Choo. Woo Woo. All aboard. :-)

So just to clarify, you also call cars "vroom vrooms" right?

It has broken down once since it opened. Not a surprise given it is brand new. Your comment is as relevant as the Ted Cruz comment.

I never make a comment unless it is directly relevant to the topic at hand. I've read more asinine comments on the subject of the Choo Choo on this board recently than any other since I started reading it almost five years ago.
