Default On paper it looks as if STL and Cincy have a lot in common. Is this a fair assessment?

I have heard both have unique neighborhoods, and historic architecture.
Both cities are on major rivers. Both have similiar hilly terrain. Could you
point out the differences between the two cities? Thank you.

I think Cincinnati has its own character, as does St. Louis. Cincinnati is also more hilly, and has a much better riverfront IMO.

st louis is more french, cincinnati more german, but yeah pretty similar. Cincinnati is probably most similar to what would result if Louisville and Pittsburgh collided at high speed.

jlrosen, you imaginary impact didnt seem to make any impression on me, but I do appreciate the effort, nonetheless. Cincinnatti being more German does give me a better idea, however.

He's right on! ... I think you could probably replace L'ville with Milwaukee (strong german roots/without river) as well.

STL is in the State of Misery (<<<misspelling is intentional). I used to work as a financial advisor and in my office we referred to Missouri clients as "State of Misery" clients because they were so freakin' difficult to work with in terms of the most basic information. You tell them 2 + 2 = 4 and they don't believe you and want to argue about it. (yeah yeah save me the 'show me state' comments). Oddly enough I've found people in KC to be the opposite; very laid back, relaxed people.

STL is WAY more ghetto than Cincinnati.
STL is WAY hotter and WAY more humid in the summertime.

Mike.
My husband is from the St Louis area ( I won't say where : ) and St Louis does have a very different "vibe". I think people in Cincy are a little more into manners and St Louis is a bit more brash. I'm not trashing St Louis but that area has had some recent job losses with large companies leaving and it has hurt the economy. Even though that area is cheaper you don't hear about a lot of people trying to move there.

And OMG! is St Louis HOT in the summer..it is always over 100 degrees.

Actually, on paper (factual statistics) both of these comments are untrue.

Hillside, what part of California are you from?

what, so you can ask me what kind of weed i smoke? hah. factually, can you disprove either of my claims? are you going to document the amount of bullet holes in every corner store wall and window in both cities? gather and weigh the metric tons of trash on the street? count the homeless and transient population? you are not from either city limits so I don't know what your fascination is about.
