Note: Regarding the comment above about Kingsley Drive, perhaps I should have said it's the intersection road near the upper right of the pics. You can see the street sign in some of the photos, although not clear enough to actually read it.

Wow! I can't believe the quality of those pics. Hyden, you really out did yourself on these. Do any of the fella's in your pictures have the last name "Wooten"?
Thanks so much for sharing. I can remember very clearly walking through the neighborhood on my way to school and/or Thriftway.

I lived in Straford Manor apartments in the mid 60's. I went to Lyons Junior High School. Lots of good memories from that time. Apartments were nice. We lived on Strathmore and used to play in the cemetary.

I went to the 7th grade at Lyons, I think the year was 1967, I remember Mr. Knuckles the principle because he gave me swats for smoking in the bathroom. I also remember Mr. Woodruff the history teacher and Mrs. Duvall, english. I think Mrs. Reece or Meece was math. We only lived there for 1 year and moved to Swifton Village Apartments, then I went to Woodward. When we lived on Strathmore my best friend was Brenda Ronecker. I remember Katie Rhoads, and the Wheatley family girls were Billie and Bobbie. I used to walk to Ontario's and buy 45's. Went to my first concert when we lived there it was the Beach Boys at the Cincinnati Gardens. I spent most of my summer at the pool.

Rhonda,
Your memories are so clear!! I wish mine were. I am @ 10 years younger than you {I was born in 1964}. I lived in Eastwood Village in the late 1960's for a short period of time, and do not remember the "pleasant" experience others do.
I saw your other post about Swifton Village. I moved to Golf Manor, and went to Swifton Shopping Center often. We cut across the railroad tracks on Wiehe Rd., and went through Roselawn Park to get to Swifton Shopping Center. I'll leave that discussion for the "Swifton Village" forum.
You are lucky to remember names. I hope you connect with someone from your past. Good luck!!

Rhonda - I lived on Red Bank Rd in the 60's and 70's. Went to Eastwood Elementary, Lyon Jr. High and then Withrow. I went swimming at the pool with lots of my friends in Eastwood Village. Did you know the Brown family. I think there were twins, Diane and Donna and they had an older sister Karen. Can't remember the street.
Do you remember Mr. Dill, Miss Everson, Mr. Massey, and Mr. Duncan from Lyon? I can see some of the other teachers but can't remember their names.
How about Lipstick Smear Day at Lyon?
Do you and Hyden know each other?

RedBank Girl, I don't remember Rhonda, but I do remember some of the teachers mentioned by all of you. Perhaps some of you will remember Mr. Haas I think when I started 7th or 8th grade it was his first year teaching. He was so good loolking. I look back and wish I had been nicier to Mr. Woodruff, he really was a nice old man, he was always so serious. On my porch you could look straight at the pool, next to us was a cottage that the Dykes family lived in, they had a daughter about my age and I think her name was Vicky. She had younger twin sisters named Cindy and Sandy. Also the Pratt family.Judy, Jerry, & Sandy. I can remember something about lipstick smear day, You all may think this is stupid but because I was experimenting with make-up in the 7th grd. that I can't stand lipstick today. When I would go to the bathroom after lunch and everybody trying to brush their hair that I always felt like I had something on my mouth. I still wipe the stuff off after just a few minutes. The only person that I have contact with since Lyons is Essie Combs from madisonville. Although she is black we still told people we were cousins Let's keep the memories coming, Hyden
