We're all enjoying this thread. Brings back a lot of memories. There were two gullys. One on the east side of the Manor which was sort of by the laundry building. Actually, it was forked with one fork near the stop sign by Red Barn Road (in the direction of Mansion Hill). And another one on the west side of the manor, not far from the farmer's pond.

We went to the one on the west side that had the large grapevine that everyone would swing on.Does anyone remember three sisters by the name of Woosley?I believe Connie was killed in a car wreck in the early 60`s,I think maybe her sisters were Cheryl & Mary.I also remember a family by the name of Lord,I think the daughters name was Francis Sherry(Frannie) maybe the parents were Ralph & Evelyn. My step brother was the manager of Stratford Manor.

I somewhat remember the west side. We'd go over there once in a while. As I recall, there were large trees on what seemed like a fairly steep slope. I can't recall the grapevine (been too many years ago), but it seems like there was something over there kids would swing out on. Mostly we'd explore the "jungles" of the east side gully since it was closer to where we lived.

Do you recall what street Connie lived on?

A.F.D. I also want to welcome you to this thread. Our family knew the Woosleys. I remember them and when the accident happened. My parenets have a picture of the girls and the boyfriend of Connie is in it too. Connie's sister later married the boyfriend. They had a younger sister wasn't much more than a toddler when this all happened. I know that when I was in like 6th or 7th grd. I would watch her until her mother came home. She was in the 3rd grade I would guess. The older sisters were never the same. The building they lived in was the one on the corner of Eastwood and Kingsley. It faced Eastwood. Very pretty girls. I'll ask my brother because they were all about the same age and he knew the boys that was in the wreck also.
I wish you could have lived at the Manor longer. You missed alot of fun. Hyden

Thank you. I knew a girl named Connie, who had an older sister, a younger sister and a younger brother, who lived on Shelborne (I think) near Kingsley. She and her older sister had a different last name than her younger sister and brother. Can't remember her last name anymore. They lived around the corner from us. It's not the same Connie you knew though.

The last name Woosley rang a bell, but I'm not sure if I knew them, or if it's because of someone else with the same last name.
