ChiDiana, was glad to hear from you.I remember @ Eastwood Elem. there was several from the home in my class, they would shove anyone out of their way or just run over them. They would also take things out of our desk if they wanted it without asking.I was scared to death of them.A.F.D.

A.F.D., I don't really remember if any of the kids lived in the Chidren's home when I went to Eastwood. I only remember them from Lyon. Most of the kids I can remember from Eastwood were either from the manor or Swanee Trail. I'm sure thee may have been some, but I just don't recall. I went to Eastwood in the 4th grade (63-64).

I hope everybody had a great thanksgiving. Now looking forward to the big Christmas dinner , all but fixing it. It's always fun though and to have time with family. We have so much to be thankful for everyday is a blessing that we sometimes don't stop to think about it, I know I sort of take it for granted. Just speaking for myself, I try to pray about it, I'm glad he knows my heart. It won't be long till I start dragging out the ol tree so I'll look for some pictures if I can find the tote they are in. A.F.D., I still haven't put my tree up yet but I'm getting close. Still haven't finished my shopping. I have done some but will probably give my girls money to shop for the kids for us. You know I have been thinking about some of the kids from the home. I really hope they were able to grow and have a prospurous life. I'll check back in tomorrow. I'll have 2 grandkids here because school has already been called off because of snow. Hyden

ChiDiana,I wonder if you still live in Cincy & do you know where Bethel,Ohio is?My friend moved there in Aug.& I plan on visiting her this coming summer. If possible I would to meet you & maybe we can drive through" the manor".I wouldn`t have any ideal how to get there now.It has been 50 years since I was @ the manor.I also remember we would go to the movies @ Oakley & during intermisson they would sometimes have a trapez act @ the concession stand. Was fun to watch.A.F.D.

Hello Everybody, I talked to my brother...he had sent some old movie film to some place to have it all put on a disc. These films were from mid 60's, he had filmed alot while in the Air Force. He said right in the middle of watching it , it goes to the manor and there I am chasing a little boy I used to babysit. He said the fold up chairs were out in the yard. I would like to see it myself ,I hope he can copy it. I just wanted to share with you all. Hyden

Hi AFD,
I know where Bethel, Ohio is. Two of our children live there, it is a very nice little town about 30 miles east of Cincinnati. Where are you planning to go when you get there? I lived there for the 20 years I was married to my first husband.
Sad to tell you the manor has been gone for a long time. It did hold the U.S. Shoe factory and a coke plant. The Oakley drive in is still there but I do not believe it is functioning as such.
Happy Holidays

Hi Rhonda,I know that the manor is gone, but anyone who has lived there all of their lives would remember how to get to where it was probably. That would be such a treat.I think my friend lives about 8 miles from the county line closest to Cincy. Not sure of the address yet. Do you still live in Cincy?Did you go to Eastwood Elem .School? If so did you ever know Brenda or Kathy Davis ? A..F.D.
