I've not lived in Cincinnati since 1981, but my folks still live there. The last time I "drove through" the Manor was a couple of years ago. That was when I accidently discovered it was gone. I say accidently because my younger brother was also in town for the holidays from New Hampshire. We were talking and trying to catch up and I got a little lost. When I realized that I had ended up on Duck Creek we decided to check it out. I live in Chicago now.
I remember going to the movies at the Oakley drive-in.... 1st with my parents, later on a couple of double dates with friends, and then finally after I was married. In fact, my ex husband and I lived in Kenwood Towers and could actually see the movies from our windows (with binoculars, which was silly). My dad said that he saw Jayne Mansfield, in person, at the Oakley drive in back in the late 50's.

I am not sure what is happening with the old Oakley Drive In site. I live in Batavia, Ohio now. I never went to Eastwood Elem. I went to Lyons for the 7th grade only, then we moved to Swifton. I do not remember Brenda or Kathy Davis. Brenda Ronecker was my best friend I believe that was in 1967 or 68. One girl I do remember had a glass eye but I forgot her name.

Hello All, I don't know anything about a tornado, seems like someone in the family would have mentioned it. I left Cinti (Norwood) june of 73, the next month after graduation. So I have been in KY about 5 hours away since then, but my parents, brothers and sister stayed. I live 7 miles from where my Mother was raised. Her 2 sisters are here ( 1next door and the about 15 miles) and too many cousins to count !!! Which also means that I have lost almost all my Ohio accent. But really when I was about 17 I worked at the Oakley Drive Inn...in the concection stand. When I would total thier stuff I would be asked several times if I was from KY. I guess it might have been because my parents were from here. Also the wages was $1.25 an hour, which was money then. Now there were a little sub division beside the fence of the parking, so to make up for that all those homes that could see the screen was suppied with a speaker. I gotta go got some running around to do. Hyden

Rhonda1954, That girl with the glass eye was Debbie Williams I believe. I went home with her many times. She lived on Strathmore. I could smoke at her house and I was only in like 6th grade. Her mother hardly ever said a word, but I kept speaking to her or ask her something and she got to where she started talking more I have seen Debbie take the eye out and clean it. If my mother knew I was smoking I would have been in big trouble.
I haven't seen NightBaazar on here in a while. I hope he is ok. Hyden

I'm fine. I clicked on the option to have notices automatically sent to my email addy when someone posts to this thread. Doesn't happen all the time though. I poke my nose in here to try to keep up with what's going on.
Interesting talking about 6th grade smokers. Both of the Meese brothers (who A.F.D. also knew) were smokers. Whenever I'd go over there, their mom was okay about smoking in the house. I don't remember if they had a dad, but I can't recall seeing him.
