Thanks for checking, Hyden. When we lived on Shelbourne my family lived in one of the middle bldgs. facing the street on the 2nd floor. Across the hall from us were the Hartley's. In the building to the left on the first floor were the Powell's. Dana was a lot of fun. He and I were in the 4th grade together, although not in the same class. I remember his dad drove a blue DeSoto, I think. He'd be about 54.

The Hartley's mom was German, I think. Their dad had been in the war. The oldest son was, I think, adopted from Okinawa. The younger son was named Dieter and he had had polio. He was a bit younger than me, but was also my friend.

ChiDiana, The Hartley's, What was the adopted sons name and how old should he be? When we moved back to the manor in 64, there was a boy our age that lived on Strathmore by the name of John Kidd...He was from a white father and asian mother. A very sweet and smart boy. I think he graduated from Withrow in 73. Hyden

ChiDiana, is Shelbourne the street that intersected with Kingsley? I can remember the names, but not always which was where.

NightBazzar,do you know what the first intersection was after you passed the Thriftway .Seems to me it may have been Kingsley that crossed Eastwood but I`m not sure about that.Anyway that was where we lived.I believe I said before that I lived on the corner of Eastwood & Stratford Dr.but Stratford didn`t cross Eastwood did it?A.F.D.

A.F.D. The first intersection was Strathmore Dr., next one was Kingsley on the right, to turn left would have been the alley to the pool so I didn't know if that was considered an intersection. Keep ging straight past Kingsley on your right would be Shelbourne which would bring your right back to Strathmore. I hope this helped. Hyden

I think there's some confusion as to which streets were which. I know I am. Please correct me where I'm wrong or fill in the blanks.

I know Kingsley Drive was the second drive past the market.

If I understand correctly, the first drive just past the market was Strathmore Drive.

The market was located on was Eastwood Drive.

Following Eastwood Drive, past Kingsley, Eastwood curved to the east which continued on past the farmland and ultimately ended at Red Bank Road. What was the drive next to the farmland called?

There was a drive that ran from Strathmore, intersected with Kingsley Drive and ended at the drive by the farm. Was that Shelborne Drive?

I think his name was Mike, but I'm not sure. His younger brother, Deiter, was my friend, although he was a year or two younger than me. I think Mike would probably have graduated in 70 or 71 (just a guess).

The name, John Kidd, sounds very familiar. Just the name, though. I can't place a face or anyone in particular. Do you think he went to Lyons? For some reason I want to associate the name with the school.

Hmmm... I think, and I could be mistaken, that Shelbourne might have run paralell to Kingsley. It could have intersected with it, though, as I remember Kingsley curved a bit.
