I think I remember that there was a school "beanie" -- a felt hat in the school colors. Was it yellow and purple?

It was a great environment for kids -- playmates all around. We left when my parents bought a home in Bond Hill where I went on to attend Swifton Primary and Bond Hill Elementary. After junior high in Kentucky, I returned to attend 10, 11 and 12th grade in Norwood, graduating in 1973.
Welcome to this thread, LylaL! Isn't it neat?! I think you'll find the quality of people here are a good example of the quality of people that lived in the Manor way back when.

Yellow and Purple.... I think you may be right. When I was reading that in your post it triggered a memory of our school election for Class President in 1963 and seeing those colors a lot. I dont remember a beanie hat, though.

Hello All I was thinking ( sometimes that can be dangerous ) I wonder if there is any way to find out if the Manor was advertised in the Enquirer or Post. Wouldn't it be nice to find an ad that the Manor is now ready for renters... I will try to call them this week....Hyden

Interesting thought Hyden. We moved to Cincinnati because my father was transferred by the Navy to the recruiting office there. I think the Navy made the arrangements to move into Stratford Manor, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I'll have to ask him about it, but he's getting pretty old and his memory isn't so sharp anymore, so I don't know if he'll be able to remember the details.

For all the people who live in the Manor, I'd have to guess they had to find out about it somehow. Maybe the Manor posted vacancies with classified ads? I understand it wasn't always easy to move in there though, and a lot of people were on lists waiting for an opening.
