I was around 11 or 12 when this photo was taken. The cottage faced Strathmore Drive, at the west end of Strathmore and was farthest from the street. Behind us was a large parking area and a back drive that led to the small shopping plaza. Our cottage (or bungalow) was in the same court where the Hydens lived at that time, in the early 60's.
lewislm - We were almost neighbors! I lived at 4975 Strathmore Dr in the apartment building that also faced Strathmore. We shared a backyard with the Hydens in an adjoining apt building. On page 50 is a pic of me and I do believe that's your (future) bungalo right behind me. However we moved away in Oct 57 when I was 4 1/2 yrs old which was before your family moved in.

Default Hello, David!

It's nice to meet you. Because I'm not certain of the exact time of our arrival, it's not impossible that we lived in the area at the same time.

In my admittedly foggy memory of the manor's layout, I think you would have been west of me, in the direction of the legacy woods that ran along the western edge. (Somewhere, I think I still have an old map of Cincinnati dating to that period. I must dig around to find it!)

Try this link. It shows the Manor in 1968. But you can also click on a view that shows it in 1956. You can drag the image left, right, up and down. And you can zoom in or zoom out.

That's really nice, NightBazaar. I used to make digital (computerized) maps. Potentially, one day, I could create a GIS map of the Manor the way we remember it, labeled with street names, addresses and such.

lewislm - the digital map idea is great! And if you make it available to us on this site perhaps we could each put our name on the spot where we lived! I know it's a dream but hey, so was going to the moon!

Sure, david_doer - adding names to a computer map would be easy!

Hello lewislm, welcome. We are always glad to get someone new on here.
What a great ideal to make the map, that will put the icing on the cake.
Did you live close to the cemetary ?We would play in there when I visited my brother who lived on that end of Strathmore.Guess I should add that my brother`s daughters and I were the ones to play there and not my brother.LOL! I lived with our parents on Eastwood.
Stay with us now.A.F.D.
