This was so cool, it was the best memory trip I have ever had.

This thread is indeed a great trip down memory lane.

Thanks Hyden, I'll check out the pictures. A.F.D., thanks, I'll be staying on here, this has been so exciting. I remember the ice cream man, and seem to remember he was kind of bent over. I remember the red and white truck. I also remember walking home from school crying because of Kennedy's assasination.

Kids and parents alike would hear the tune from the ice cream truck off in the distance and start gathering around the usual spots in the neighborhood where he'd park, all eager to choose a nice cool treat on a warm summer day. I wish someone had a photo of that truck.

Does anyone remember a family from South Africa? I think the boy's name was Andreas and the girl Matilda. I remember Matilda had blonde hair. I lived at the end of Strathmore and remembered playing in the woods past the playground. To this day I love the woods. Just not in California, you might not make it out again.

I lived in the same area as Ethel and Susie Witherspoon and Terry and Mary Lynn Maple. Mrs Witherspoon used to babysit me. Would love to find Susie, kept in touch for years, but then lost contact. It's hard to find the girls if you don't know their married name.
Hi fanner54, nothing like a new person to fire up the old memories again. I remember Ethel ,she was my girlfriend in 5th or 6th grade. i lived on eastwood dr fromm 55' to 68'. i lived in the bungalow closest to the pool. welcome aboard

You might want to check out the Canterbury Gardens thread: your "sister" neighborhood.

Look familiar?
