And one wonders why more people are moving out than moving in.

Can you please post data that supports this statement?

I'm just curious on what this statement is based on, because if that were the case how would Cincinnati's population be growing?

Cincinnati is kind of beautiful in an aesthetic way as far as I look at some of the architecture. Italianate architecture(some of the largest collections of Italianate architecture in the USA) and its on many hills and a big river to the south. Looks like Rome,Italy in some ways. I'm not from NY or LA. I don't doubt Cincinnati has some good stuff. It's just the suspicion of "outsiders" that puts me off. I am aware of the issues faces Cincinnati, such as rising crime and racial tensions(not that it doesn't exist in Atlanta, few people want to admit it though).

Has had a bad rep for decades.

Admittedly, I haven't been there for quite a while but prima facie it ain't the kind of place I'd choose to live in (safety and security always being important to me).

Quite possibly it's been "gentrified" (not a pleasant concept for some with certain political leanings) but I think I'd still be kind of wary.
