No one in the City is listening to what Mark Mallory is saying...instead we are counting down the days until him and his bodyguard are out of City Hall. If you think he knows this City..well...no personal attacks. He takes the metal detectors out of City Hall but hires a bodyguard. If you are not involved in buying or selling of drugs, you are safe in this City. Those are the facts I listen to, not the so called Mayor who hasn't done anything for this City since he has been in office.

Hillside, I'm not trying to call you out or anything, it's just that I can't recall reading anything where Mark Mallory said "His city isn't safe" -every month.
Can you please post links?

... There's just nothing like this or comparable in Charlotte.

Sorry to bring up “ old stuff”, but I just read this and the statement above couldn’t be further from the truth. Downtown Charlotte has been “booming” for the past several years, and is still going strong. And at a pace that Cincinnati cannot rival. One question; when was the last time Cincy built a new highrise building? Or, how many new highrises are planned for downtown Cincy. Highrises aren’t the end-all be-all, but the answers to those questions help to solidify my point.
Here are some links you can visit if you’d care to enlighten yourself on Charlotte….

But I do love that chili!!!!!!

The question is who has more highrises? Charlotte is still playing catch up. So obviously Charlotte has to boom more to catch up. I doubt Charlotte is paying attention to Cincinnati as much as Cincinnati paying attention to Charlotte.

Yep! Charlotte is playing catch up and BTW ... Cincy is building a new 700 footer. Demo of garage is scheduled for July, parking notices went out this past week.
Basically Cincy is building another downtown onto our current downtown, tapered off by a 40 acre park system which will create almost 4 miles of continual park space.
No comparison.

Wait a minute. So now we’re talking about “the past”? I thought the original statement comparing downtown Charlotte to downtown Cincinnati was regarding “development”. I seem to recall the statement was…

Interesting. What all does this "new downtown" entail? And any links you can provide would be most informative, as well.

... Here's a rendering of the new Queen City Square tower. Demo starts on the garage soon and construction will start on the tower sometime around October.
