“Ground has been broken on The Banks, an 18-acre, US$600 million mixed-use development on the Ohio River in Downtown Cincinnati,…The initial part of the project’s first phase consists of about 300 apartments and 70,000 square feet of retail and restaurants; construction is scheduled for completion in 2010…Subject to contingencies, the second part of Phase I will include an office building of at least 200,000 square feet and possibly a hotel… the particulars of subsequent phases remain flexible…”

Nice, sounds similar to our Midtown Greenway development.

Metropolitan • Charlotte, North Carolina • Pappas Properties

or our Third Ward Park and Baseball stadium development, which is also next to our football stadium….

Again, nice, but overall it doesn’t sound like anything over and above what is going on in downtown Charlotte. For example…

I guess we too are building “another downtown unto the current downtown”, LMAO!!!!

Charlotte and Cincinnati have almost nothing in common. Charlotte is a younger city than Cincinnati. Charlotte has a more suburban feel Charlotte also has a larger city-limits population. The climate in Charlotte is more similar to Atlanta than it is to Cincinnati. Another difference, and this difference could sound very ironic: Race relations seem much better in Charlotte than in Cincinnati, considering Charlotte is in the South. The last time I checked, Cincinnati is still having alot of problems in that category.

Pirate-I agree. I lived in Charlotte for a lil while. They are two totally different cities. Charlotte is surburbia--its "uptown" is no more than 5-6 blocks!.. Charlotte is kinda country once you get out of the city and the burbs...
