Thanks
I am not a South African, but I have been dating one for 4 years in Cincinnati, so I can give you some advise. I actually am from WI and have family that live in Milwaukee as well.

Wine- I am a huge SA wine fan and have been on two previous trips to the Cape. Best two stores for SA wine are Party Source & Liquor Direct. Both are right over the river in Kentucky. In Ohio (alcohol is generally more expensive in OH) Jungle Jim's in your best bet. This huge international super market is one of a kind. Pretty good SA wine selection but more expensive than KY.

Food- Jungle Jim's is your answer for all those SA goodies you miss from home. There is a SA isle in the international section (near England in back of store) where you can find tea, biscuits, rusks, allgold, chutney, biltong, juices, etc. Also, in the meat section their is a cooler of international meats that has boerewors, droë wors, and more biltong!

Leaving in about a week for my third SA trip- excited as usual. Hope this helps!

Ps. Could you please share the same info for Milwaukee for my next visit there?

Hi everyone

My family and I moved to Cincinnati from South Africa in 1996, and we are in contact with about 25 different South African families who live in Cincinnati; many of the Afrikaans as well!

We frequently host braais and the like (we just had one for Memorial day) And we typically celebrate Thanksgiving together. You can also find some of us at The Church of the Covenant in Forest Park on Sundays

I will definitely post back here when we schedule another event.

If you'd like to plan something email me at blondie__777@hotmail.com.
