Default East Price Hill?

I'm moving to Cincinnati just for the summer for a job in east price hill. So from what I've found on the internet it seems that people generally think it's a dangerous neighborhood, but I wanted someone to clarify whether it's a) actually dangerous or b) it gets that reputation because a lot poor minorities live there. I've lived in both kinds of neighborhoods, and realize that there's a big difference.

I'm not buying any houses or living there long term, so it's not really important to me if the neighborhood is deteriorating fast. And I'm living there no matter what people say because I have free housing, so I don't need alternate neighborhood recommendations. Just want to be prepared.

thanks!

@ggg,

I wouldn't let people tell you East Price Hill is a bad neighborhood. Every neighborhood in Cincinnati borders another with more crime or lower property values. There's an awful lot of potential and lots of projects in the works to revitalize the neighborhood. EPH and the Incline District has one of the most undervalued views of the city skyline. Also, a great majority of people that put down EPH and its residents don't know where it is or how to get there.

That said, I've lived there for 25+ years and I'm still alive and I wouldn't want to live elsewhere.
