Default Pleasant Run Farm

Does anyone know about Pleasant Run Farm? Looking online I see low prices for nice-looking houses, and I heart the Northwest School District is not bad.

Pleasant Run Farms has seen better days; it was one of many subdivisions that sprouted from old farm land along Kemper Rd ahead of the construction of 275. Ryan Homes (the Drees of the '60s and '70s) was the principal if not only contractor.

There's some stability but a good bit of "shakiness" around there - increases in crime in Mt Healthy to the south and Forest Park to the east. I'd pass on it if I were you.

Low home prices in Cincinnati are always low for a reason, sometimes good and sometimes bad, sometimes right and sometimes wrong. Where Pleasant Run Farms is concerned the reasons are bad and they are right.

Northwest Schools aren't bad, but within that vicinity Fairfield's and Lakota's are better.

I grew up in Colerain Twp. and went to school with many kids from PRF. Back then it was known as the "uppity" part of our area. I still know people who live there and they're currently trying to sell. There are still some nice parts, but it's totally changed from the way it was 12-15 years ago.

I grew up in Pleasant Run Farms from 1974-1992 and went to school in the Northwest School Distrct. Back then it was a nice middle income neighborhood but I have heard that it has fallen on hard times. Almost all of the families of friends I grew up with have long since left. A friend I went to high school with lives in PRF and says it is bad and he would like to move but was able to buy a house cheap and likes his low mortgage payment. Overall the Northwest SD is not bad at all but I agree that Fairfield and Lakota which are close by are better.

I disagree with the comments above. I am from the area, I grew up in Ridgevale a subdivision about a mile off of Mill Road in the 80s. That area was probably more upper middle class than Pleasant Run. I moved to PRF in 06. Like any area there are good and bad parts. Crime is low in PRF, check the stats from the police dept for proof, not couch commentary. The crime rate in PRF is about the same as Lakota and Fairfield. I think people confuse PRF with Forest Park and Mt. Healthy. There is a movement of young professionals like myself who are moving back to the area.

PRF was pretty nice about 10 years ago compared to Forest park Area not BAD at all. Just like every other area people are selling and there are foreclosed homes there. Only thing I don't like is the taxes are pretty high.
