Cincinnati is a nice Midwestern city. Like most Midwestern cities, it's very affordable compared to cities/states in the northeast - New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, etc. and cities/states bordering the Pacific Ocean. It's a lot cheaper than Florida also.
We get appprox. 38 inches of precipitation per year. I think it's too cold for seven months of the year, but many people enjoy cold weather - I don't. We have about 137 days that are sunny.
The suburbs of Cincinnati are very safe. (Like most places, the urban core is less safe.) Where I live, you can walk alone at any time of the night or day without fear. It's a great place to raise a family because our schools are excellent, people are friendly/neighborly, and your kids can go outside and play, ride their bikes, walk to the pool, etc. without fear. I'd say it's one of the best areas in the country to raise a family and/or get an education.
Cincinnati has a lot of people that are of German and Irish ancestry, but we're becoming more diverse. Many major companies, P&G, GE, Kroger, Fidelity, Toyota, etc. are located here and that brings in a diversity of people. I'd say the populace is well educated.
Things to do include: the symphony, countless museums, ballet, opera, Broadway shows at the Aronoff, concerts at Riverbend, biking the Loveland Bike Trail, Kings Island Amusement Park, The Beach Waterpark, canoeing the Little Miami River, horse racing at Riverdowns, gambling at one of the many casinos close to here, shopping at one of the malls - Kenwood Towne Centre is one of the top ten malls in the nation, antiquing at Waynesville, browsing the flea markets, community festivals, swimming, boating on the Ohio River, fine dining all over the city, volunteer opportunities abound, etc. If you are bored here it's your own fault because there are tons of things to do.
For me, the northern suburbs of Cincinnati have been a great place to live, get an education, and raise a family. If there's anything else you need just DM me - best wishes!
