Default Cincinnati Wedding

Hi Everyone,

I need some help finding a location for my 2009 summer wedding ceremony and reception.

I would like to have the ceremony and reception all at one location if possible, but I'm open to having two different locations as well. I would love to have an outdoor ceremony, but only if there is a covered spot in case of rain (such as an indoor reception site that we could quickly convert for the ceremony). A church ceremony would be fine too, but if we go that route I would prefer a smaller historic and architectually interesting church.

We're planning to have 100-120 guests, and we're thinking about an hors devours or lunch reception, but could be open to dinner as well. Something on the east side or north side (Mason, Loveland, Morrow, Lebanon, etc.) of town would probably be best, but we're open to downtown (if there's parking) or northern KY.

Let me know if you have any suggestions!

Thanks!

Hmmm... I'm new to town and so will have to think hard on this. For an outdoor wedding I would think Eden park (near the reflecting pool, or over looking the Ohio River, or even Krohn Conservatory) would be really cool. There are many other nice parks in downtown, a lot with turn of the century buildings/structures (many greek revival) that would be lovely.

I am new to Lebanon, and while there are really pretty areas here I don't know about outdoor venues. There are some very nice older churches - perhaps you could do that with a lunch reception at the Golden Lamb? I don't know if they do weddings, but wouldn't be suprised if they did.

I'll keep my eyes open as I drive around.

We got married outdoors in MI, and had the reception in a building on the property. We loved it - so my vote is for an outside wedding if you can pull it off!

You might want to look into French Park in Amberley Village. I think it has everything you are looking for.

Drees Pavilion in Devou Park in Covington is an awesome location. They have large indoor reception hall with a large patio and lawn overlooking all of downtown that could easily fit 100-120 for an outdoor wedding/reception. I've been to one wedding there, incredible location.

I think a Downtown wedding is always beautiful.

If you are Protestant I would suggest either Covenant Presbyterian....just across the Cincinnati Club and the Phenix or Christ Church Cathedral. They have two chapels, one is very charming and feels like an English Village Church It's quaint and you won't have a huge church to fill. Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington is one of the most beautiful churches in the city. It's on the corner of 4th and Madison just a block from the Northern Kentucky Convention Center and the hotels with city views. Events are cheaper that side of the river as well so it could be worth checking out. Below is a shot of Trinity. I've been there for a few concerts. I think with the number of people you have you won't feel like you're in an empty church.

If you are Catholic you might try St. Xavier Church. It has parking right next door and is just a few blocks from The Banker's Club, the Cincinnati Club and the Phenix.
