Wedding photographers and florists
In addition to trying to find a location (thanks for all the great ideas so far in my other post, by the way), please let me know if you have suggestions for florists and photographers. Photography and gardening are two of my favorite hobbies, so the flowers and pictures are really important to me. I don't want to break the bank, but I want something unique and pictures that look timeless (maybe even someone that specializes in black and white).
Thanks in advance for all your help!

No one photographer or studio stands out above all others, IMHO, but in the floral department Jones the Florist rules.

StudioHousePhotography. Photographer is from Cincy, but lives 2.5 hrs away from here now. Very experienced, great wedding photographer with reasonable prices. She still shoots weddings in Cincy area, so you might want to send her a message. Studiohousephotograhy.com for details. Hope this helps.

I would agree that Jones is the place! I use them for everything and they bring seasonal flowers to my home when ever I have parties. They are not fussy or froo-froo. They do very clean very beautiful work. Often they have a classic look, but it's also quite modern. They are just the best place in town!
What locations did you end up looking at?

What are the prices like at Jones? Reasonable?
We haven't checked any places out yet... we don't live in Cincinnati anymore, but we're planning a visit in late July to see our families and to find a place (hopefully!).

We used Broadway Photography and they did a wonderful job. A true mix of photojournalism and traditional styled shots. They were very receptive to what we wanted out of the day.
I worked for Jones the Florist years ago and while it has a new owner. the arrangements are still very good. It's very traditional and somewhat cookie cutter but pretty. They are on the more expensive end for what you get. I would recommend Robin Wood, Del Apgar or Dennis Buttelwerth (sp) for a more individualized approach to flowers.
I would book a place first before doing your flowers because then your florist will be able to help you design what you're going to need.

I'm definitely going to book a place first. I just have very limited time in Cincinnati so I need to get everything as organized now as possible.
I'll check out those places you mentioned, mimi. If Jones is pretty expensive and nothing unique, I might rule them out

I should also put in a good word for whatever the florist at Clifton and Ludlow (opposite Skyline if you need a familiar landmark lol) is called now. The former Durban Greenhouses merged with what'd been Adrian Florists, and they were "playing around" with different names to do business under. It may be that they've settled on being known as, simply, Clifton Florist. No matter. Cincinnati "institutions" such as the art museum, CSO, and Museum Center call on them as well as Jones for "occasion" arrangements. With the lamented demise of Dedden's in Hartwell, I don't have any others to suggest.
Where are the West Siders when a thread needs them? Hahaha.
