Just to be fair, that mall was so different than other malls...more entertainment and the indoor carnival. As a teen, that is where we all went to hang out and catch a movie, head over to the food area and hang out for hours. None of the other malls had that at the time.

Thanks, Hartwell Girl. That's what I meant by excellent concept. A one-of-a-kind shopping experience. Unfortunately, it was poorly thought out.

I still dont think it was poorly thought out. It was built from what I remember to be one of the largest malls compared to that other one (dang it--brain fart--someone help me out) that was getting so much publicity, The largest mall in america. But Forest Fair Mall, yes that is what I call it, had different stores. I loved Elder Beerman--miss it, it had the only Biggs around at the time. But Tri County down the street, well, it was under construction every 2 years, first it was one store, open roof, build a roof, tear down the roof, build a second floor...etc..etc. who wants to deal with all that but the FF was new, young, hip, and I loved it. I would say out of ALL the malls, that is still the one I shop at the most due to Steve & Barrys, Kohls and BP Shop. I hope someone does something with the place, I am not ready to see it die yet.

Mall of America, right outside Minneapolis.

It's a shame about FF. But it was built too close to Tri-County and Northgate (and the numerous non-mall stores along Colerain Ave near NG and SR 747 near TCM).

I'd love to see a FF experiment down here in KY. Right now, the Crestview Towne Center experiment seem to be working. Four years ago, the only tennant in what was the Crestview Shopping Center was Dillards. Now, the Towne Center is thriving.

We went to Home Depot tonight across from FF mall and the place had a ton of cars on the lot. I guess Kohls and Bass pro are still pulling people in. I guess it will fold if BP leaves.

Sort of. It's a "lifestyle center" now, called the Anderson Towne Center. *double*, although at least Center is spelled correctly.

It's got a Macy's (old Shillito's/Lazarus) and an uber Kroger that'll knock your socks off, if you're into grocery stores that knock your socks off, that is. K-Mart is where Gold Circle (now there's a store I really miss) used to be. There's an IHOP where Bill Knapp's (!) used to be; it's mostly restaurants and little stores. Nothing special, really.

You are correct, Northgate is in C-Rain. But every big shopping mall around the area is either in a Twp. or another city....Plus the title of the thread was "what's a god mall in Cincy"

I am really shocked that they haven't really progressed more than that out there.

Florence Mall has some real garbage type stores. Overpriced junk. I feel like I am being punished by God when my daughter wants to go there shopping. The trash music blasting away, makes one not want to go into a store. Mind you I guess I am part of the older crowd I guess, but trying to please my daughter.

The Florence Mall draws the type of crowd I like to stay away from.

When Beechmont Mall opened in the early 1970s, it was a regional mall that served the area between Mt. Washington and Brown Co. At that time, there was little retail in Clermont Co.

Now, Eastgate Mall and vacinity makes the drive to Anderson Town Center pretty unnecessary. Personally, I am surprised that there are enogh tenants to keep the place going. The main anchor creating traffic there is the excellent Kroger's store.
